Description
Most of the pump shaft are made by steel, cast iron and stainless steel. However the insufficient hardness of base metal leads to the application of sleeves. They’re used to protect the shaft, especially the working surface of the shaft seal from damage or abrasive wear.
When selecting the sleeve, it should be noted that the thermal expansion coefficient α of the shaft and sleeve is almost equal. By selecting the shaft sleeve appropriately, the chemical resistance of the steel shaft can be improved to the level of stainless steel.
